IMAX – 3D
Though, Avatar was defeated by The Hurt Locker during the 2010 Oscar, it’s unique technology is perfect. When seeing Avatar, we must see the IMAX 3D version. Why? Does the IMAX 3D have some magic power captivating the audience’s eyes? Yeah, let me tell you something.
IMAX is short for Image Maximum. IMAX is kind of screen movie of a Canadian R&D Group. According to the different screen, IMAX film is divided into rectangles, 3D giant screen and spherical giant screen as a total of three kinds. Then, the charm of IMAX lies where it uses a special 70mm, 15-hole film, 10-times the photosensitive area of an ordinary 35mm, 4-hole film which can accommodate more details. The film image was projected onto the big screen by using projectors. As a result, IMAX can show the maximum area is high 21 meters wide and 34 meters. When seeing IMAX 3D film, you should wear a pair of peculiar “toad glasses”-three-dimensional glasses.
The glasses use the polarized principle, which let audiences do what they can do by their eyes. Two eyes capture two different images, thus the brain automatically increases its synthesis that lies a three-dimensional, lifelike movie image. IMAX’s plate is very heavy, which is greater than the average film.
Avatar is 162 minutes long and use 3D of the whole paragraph. It’s 70 mm film loaded at least14 boxes and total weight was estimated nearly a ton.
IMAX is constantly developing. It is popularizing during our life when the technology becoming mature.
